Went sketching with my buddies. It was sunny and 40F. Lot warmer than it sounds. Gary introduced to us to the gioconda silky black pencil. It's slippery like my graphite sticks and the darker marks don't erase completely. However you can get an amazing range of values with just one pencil and it hardly smears at all when you drag your hand across the drawing. Unfortunately they are very hard to find.
