Plein air sketch at Muckwonago river along hwy I

water soluble pencils & stabilo pencils. The light kept changing. At times some areas were brightly lit and other times dark. The color of the water kept changing along with its reflections that kept changing from dark to light and back again. Very interesting. I like the reflection of the clouds in the foreground water.

Vernon Farm Shed, Acrylic, 11x14

Went to a farm that had a pre Civil War barn. So much to paint! Finally settled on this interesting shed. Used 5 colors; white, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson, hansa yellow opaque. Forgot our thank you cards so just drew a little sketch for our thank you note. Little cooler today, about 50F, only a slight wind. So the Golden open acrylics were still wet when I went home. Luckily the rain held off and we had mostly sun. Wore my old safety glasses that don't get dark in the sun. I like plein air painting because you're outside and you don't need a studio.
