 Haven't posted for a while but still have been drawing and painting.

Betsy 14x17 sharpie markers sketch 4/23/24

 

I was sitting on the floor so I could get closer so perspective is skewed. Forgot a pencil, so used markers. I quick took photos before giving sketches to model. Adobe Elements 2018 wouldn't correct skewed photo. How annoying.

Decided to go ahead and post these. When I fill up a sketchbook I may decide to post or not.

2nd painting. First one was no good.

 Only used a palette knife and liquitex acrylics over an old painting. Just playing around.

Used only peach? a clean pink and purple plus a little white. Cleaned my fingers off in the background

Started with regular hard pastels to get the drawing right.

Went over the of the artist loft pastels with sennelier. The academic version of pastels are too waxy and don't let you build up much color. The color just scrapes off to bare wax coated paper when you try to put another color on top.

Experimenting with Artist's Loft Oil Pastels on 9x12 canson mixed media paper

 It's been awhile since I posted but figured I should start where I am. Maybe someday I'll put the other drawings up that I've done or not.

These oil pastels are a bit crumbly, waxy, and lower in pigment but I am getting them to work. I tape the paper to a board which I lay on a heating pad as it's a bit chilly here. That seems to help a little.

Kind of disappointed that the greenhouse portion of the cafe is closed. Liked sitting in there last Fall surrounded by plants. People here are mostly talking to each other instead of the many solitary people at starbucks.
