Started with regular hard pastels to get the drawing right.

Went over the of the artist loft pastels with sennelier. The academic version of pastels are too waxy and don't let you build up much color. The color just scrapes off to bare wax coated paper when you try to put another color on top.

It's been awhile since I posted but figured I should start where I am. Maybe someday I'll put the other drawings up that I've done or not.
These oil pastels are a bit crumbly, waxy, and lower in pigment but I am getting them to work. I tape the paper to a board which I lay on a heating pad as it's a bit chilly here. That seems to help a little.
