Scanned this in 3 times but no matter how hard I pressed couldn't get rid of shadow. This sketchbook just doesn't want to lay flat.

Almost first thing in the morning quick sketches.
(I'm definitely practicing scales and haven't got to playing songs yet.)
Made 7 mini greenhouses from salad containers and planted swiss chard, cilantro, mesclun, peas, orach, ovation and frills greens in newspaper pots. They're outside in an area where we don't put snow. Also planted some ovation and frills greens in old vinegar containers that I put on patio edge. Will need to move every time it snows.

Listened to a podcast of Niki Jabbour regarding cold frames on "A Way to Garden with Margaret Roach." It might be possible to get fresh greens in winter.

I listened to an interview of Randall Sexton on the Plein Air Art Podcast and he mentioned having lulls in his art production, especially around holidays. I think it's because the holidays and vacations change the schedule. So he doesn't beat himself up about it and plans for these lulls (or something like that.)
