Derwent modified Late Autumn Palette color chart and triads 11/6/20

 switched out apple green to fern green

7x10 waterford downtown river Derwent Inktense pencils in canson mixed media sketchbook 11/6/20

 

Out painting with friends in downtown Waterford. Beautiful day. 70F and sunny.

I think the apple green is too bright for late Autumn so need to switch it out.

 Objective: Catch autumn colors while weather is still nice.

Initial onsite.

I think I would like to switch out some colors to a more autumn shade in my 12 pencil plein air kit.

Colors used: 

Mustard 1700, good yellow for catching fall grasses

Baked Earth 1800, good for oak tree leaves and weeds

Apple Green 1400, grass

Leaf Green 1600, darks

Bark 2000, darks, maybe a little too purple?

 My objective is to get outside and do some color sketches while we have this nice 60F and sunny weather.

Initial onsite sketch. Shadows move fast at this time of year.

In studio, darkened behind phone pole to make it stand out.
