Harley Davidson Museum 8/12/14, 6x8 acrylic

Been using the same paint by spraying with golden open thinner and putting in the fridge.
Haven't had to use a damp paper towel all summer to keep paints moist. In the past I was working with the fast dry because the summers were hot and dry. This summer I am learning to work with paint that stays wet and doesn't dry on the canvas.

Marinette County 8/1/14

6x8 acrylic

8x8 acrylic Davies Falls

9x12 pencil
Had a good time. Bugs not too bad. Wore pants and long sleeve shirt sprayed with Deet. More mosquitoes at river but light breeze kept them mostly off. Walked up both sides of river, then chose left side to get a better view of the falls. Golden Open Thinner is a doing a good job keeping the paints from drying too fast. Actually can scrape off areas and repaint if I need to, instead of painting over the top. Of course this cooler, wet summer is slowing down the drytime too. My paintings took more than one day to dry. I just used a regular plastic mechanical pencil for the sketch.
